My Dragon Face

I painted my own face for the first time (not counting Halloween!) for a "How to train your dragon" themed birthday party. The kids loved it and were eager for me to create their own dragon faces.

My Latest Cheek Paintings

These are the cheek paintings I've been working on to get prepared for the 5 year old birthday party I just painted for. There were 15-20 guests so it needed to be quick designs.

4 y/o birthday Face Painting

These are some of the faces I painted from a 4 year old's birthday party I attended. The ages ranged from 3-8.

Face Painting Info

I started face painting after I took my daughter to have her face painted at the local market. It looked so beautiful and enjoyable, I just had to try it for her birthday. So I did some online research, bought the best face-paint I could find, and tried it out. I've been painting faces for just about every party I've been invited to since. Children love to have their face painted, it's a bit like dressing up; pretending to be someone new and exciting! With my background in graphic design and commercial art, it was easy to apply my brush techniques to children's faces instead of a canvas.

Specialty Cake Info

When my sister announced she was getting married, I volunteered to make her a groom's cake. I had made cakes before for family, but never to the scale of a wedding cake. To practice for it, I first made her a wedding shower cake. It turned out beautifully and I learned specialty cakes with fondant are one of my favorite things to create. From then on, I have made a specialty cake for nearly every family event I attended. They make an event so much more memorable to have a centerpiece with the theme and spirit of the gathering.
